At 1:00 p.m., the Multimedia Workshop attendees arrived to listen to the Director of the Office of Safe Schools for the state of Florida, Mrs. Brooks Rumenik. She talked to the group about the definition and various types of bullying, cyberbulling, and harrasment. Mrs. Rumenik then explained the recently passed Anti-Bullying Law by Florida's legislature. Asking having a brief Q&A with the attendees, she showed the attendees real-life examples of bullying and harassment. The various scenarios enabled the students to tell the many stories and examples of bullying in their lifetime.
This seminar is an interesting and highly informational method of educating the public, especially teenagers. With the increase of cases of bullyin around the country today, it is important to know the dangers of bullying, cyberbullying, and harassment. Nowadays, victims of bullying are unfortunately committing suicide.
