Another Term

Tonight, we re-elected Pres. Obama as our 44th President. On some of the social media outlets, it seems as though the biggest "Christians" as TRULY proving themselves as hypocrites. I'm not one to judge others; I'm also human. It's just that Patriots should be supporting their country and the President regardless. Hopefully, these next four years will bring MORE recovery to this country!!!

Signed,

N. Khalladay

P.S.- Republicans: there's NO such thing as proper flag waving. You can't control the celebration !! N.K

D.C. 2012!!!!!

On July 15-22,2012, myself and 11 other LYLP students traveled to DC for a National Youth Leadership Seminar, "Bringing the Lessons Home". The week was sponsored by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. During the week, we traveled to different landmarks and buildings that dealt with leadership.
The biggest highlights of trip were attending a Washington Nationals game, seeing a side-splitting play, and shopping at Pentagon Centre!
It slipped my mind to blog about it everyday. Sorry guys.

Stay Classy,
N. Khalladay

"Bullying on High School Campuses"

26- Jun. 2012
"Bullying on High School Campuses"
Rocky Hanna, Speaker

After arriving from lunch, the attendees sat down and heard Mr. Rocky Hanna, Principal of Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida. Mr. Hanna talked about his experiences of bullying, primarily as a principal, and his personal experience as a victim with bullying in high school and middle school. During his talk, the attendees asked many insightful questions in relations to bullying. After Mr. Hanna spoke, the Assistant Principal of Discipline spoke about the many real-world instances of bullying/harassment at Leon High School. This session concluded on a high note.

"Cyberbullying" Movie Reflection

So last night, the attendees watched the ABC Family movie, "Cyberbullying". In this movie, the main character, Taylor, witnessed the horrors of online bullying via social media outlets. Though cyberbullying cannot be stopped, certain steps can in fact take place that can prevent cyberbullying. Examples of  effective methods of preventing cyberbullying are  blocking the oppressor(s), resisting the temptation to view the negative comments, and rather than physically confronting the oppressors, talk to them and as the old cliche goes, "kill them with kindness !
